bCharged
Background
In 2012, I identified a gap in the market for specialized supplements catering to extreme athletes and launched a sports nutrition brand to address the need.
Overview
As lead designer at the startup bCharged, I sucessfully drove the creation of a distinctive brand identity and user experience within the competitive health and wellness market.
User Research
My analysis revealed a key difference between traditional supplements and the needs of extreme athletes. While traditional supplements often focus on general health and well-being, extreme athletes are primarily concerned with enhancing performance, mitigating pain, and accelerating recovery.

Competitive Analysis
By conducting a thorough competitive analysis, I was able to identify the sweet spot for my product within the high-performance athletic market. Analyzing product descriptions, compiling reviews, and examining brand voices allowed me to pinpoint product and brand positioning.

Design
E-commerce success depends on both the digital and physical aspects of a product. By creating brand guidelines and iterating on designs, I ensured a consistent brand experience across all touchpoints, from product detail pages to packaging and online advertisements.

User Testing
Through a year of rigorous A/B testing and user feedback, I refined the product design, applied strategic UX writing, and optimized the e-commerce experience. By continuously listening to user feedback and making data-driven improvements, I launched a product that not only resonated with our audience but also exceeded their expectations.

Results
bCharged swiftly ascended to Amazon's bestseller ranks, garnering a 4.7-star rating and generating over $225,000 in annual sales within a year of launch. The company was sold to private equity and merged with an existing supplement line.
