Background

A regional produce brokerage struggled with an outdated warehouse management system (WMS) that hindered order processing and caused communication issues.

Overview

By analyzing workflows and conducting user interviews, I streamlined the system, enabling faster order fulfillment, improved accuracy, and better team coordination.

User Studies

In-person interviews with sales teams and warehouse crews revealed a significant disconnect between the two departments. To address this, I facilitated a brainstorming session that generated a wealth of ideas to inform the design of a solution.

Findings

User testing, which included observing warehouse workers interact with the new system, revealed a significant reduction in order fulfillment errors. One warehouse worker commented, "This new system is a game-changer! I used to waste so much time chasing down details. Now, everything is clear and easy to find."

Designs System

I wanted to make sure the WMS wasn't just functional, it was also a joy to use. So, I focused on creating a system that was easy on the eyes, with clear visuals and a clean layout. The key was striking a balance - the result is powerful yet user-friendly at the same time.
